mmi CellEctor Plus - Overview

The mmi CellEctor Plus

Molecular analysis of pure, enriched cell populations or single cells is an important prerequisite of medical genomics and proteomics and is essential for molecular patient profiling. To date, this goal has often been difficult and tedious to accomplish. Therefore, we developed a new analysis and cell sorting device: the mmi CellEctor Plus.

The isolation of single and rare cells from small sample sources is a prerequisite for their genotypic and phenotypic characterization. The mmi CellEctor Plus is the starting point for a new integrated workflow and is based on an inverted microscopic platform of either the Olympus IX or Nikon Ti series but we are open to any other fabricates. It facilitates the automated isolation of any type of single and rare cells in three steps:

  • Cell Recognition
  • Cell Acquisition
  • Cell Deposition

Solution for automated single cell sorting

Thoroughly developed accessories allow for the deposition of single cells onto reaction slides of the Ampligrid type, into PCR tubes and ibidi® chambers or onto a microfluidic device. Special cleaning and service cycles maintain the capillary clean and sterile and prevent carry over contamination. Beeing an open and adjustable instrument set up the CellEctor platform can also be combined with Laser Microdissection protocols. The CellEctor technology for single cell sorting closes the gap between frequent and rare cell sorting in:

  • Cancer Research and Oncology
  • Molecular Pathology
  • Immunology
  • Stem Cell Research
  • Biomedical Research
  • Cellular Diagnostics
  • Microbiology and Virology
  • Environmental Ecology
  • Forensics
  • Material Sciences
